    Career and Academic Services

    Tutoring, Honors Programs, and Fellowships

    The Office of the Provost maintains a Supports for Students page that lists many organizations at Baruch that work directly with students in support of teaching and learning. Resources include writing assistance, academic tutoring, communications strategy development, and English-language support for non-native English speakers. The page also has information on honors programs as well as fellowship opportunities.

    Starr Career Development Center Services for Distance Learning

    The Starr Career Development Center (SCDC) is expanding its online capability to continue to deliver quality services to students for the remainder of the semester. The Center’s staff are committed to providing students with seamless ongoing support to help students achieve their career development goals. Learn more about SCDC online and virtual services.

    Graduate Career Management Center

    The Graduate Career Management Center (GCMC) has expanded its online capability and is available to all Zicklin graduate students, alumni, and employers virtually. The entire staff is working and meeting with students over Skype and Zoom and by phone at (646) 312-1330. Students can set up a meeting with a career advisor by emailing zicklin.gcmc@baruch.cuny.edu.

    GCMC is also hosting employer events, career workshops, and information sessions virtually. Stay up-to-date on GCMC services, resources, job/internship postings, and events through the center’s weekly e-news as well as on Zicklin CareerLink.

    The Weissman Office of Graduate Studies is expanding its online capability and is available to all Weissman graduate students, alumni, and employers virtually. The staff is working and meeting with students over Zoom and by phone at (646) 312-4490. Stay up-to-date on services, resources, job and internship postings, and events through the office’s weekly updates and weekly Monday night Virtual Coffee Chats with Weissman staff via Zoom.

    Social Support Services and Protections

    The Division of Student Affairs maintains a Social Support Services resource page that includes Covid-19 updates regarding food access, disability services, gender-based violence, unemployment and job-related concerns, and health and mental health services. Many such resources have new or expanded online options as well as delivery or consolidated in-person availability.

    At a time when we are so heavily dependent on technology, everyone is at increased risk for predatory internet behavior and email scams. The Starr Career Development Center has established the Avoiding Job Scams website that offers tips for protecting yourself from scams and avenues to pursue if you are a victim of a scam.
